Video-Graphic Alchemy brings together video stills from Fifth-Grade School Sing, a video I made in the late 1980s based on my fifth-grade diary, and passages from act 2 and act 3 of Vagabond Scribe, a literary experiment inspired by that video. Each "act" or chapter of Vagabond Scribe interweaves my writing and reading from a distinct period: act 2, "Elusive Lifelines," covers high school, and act 3, "Vagabond Scribe," covers the post-college years (before graduate school). I’ve arranged the ten compositions as a narrative that unfolds in a recommended sequence. Documentation of quoted passages appears at the end of the piece. All this material influenced Arella's Repertoire, a novel I later wrote. The transformations continue.
